The "Devils ride" on 17th Aug had a good turn out of bikes, the weather was on our side for the day only had approx 10 mins of rain all day. The climb up over the devils staircase was quite challenging, some of the bends were a bit tight and steep, thankfully not to much traffic coming the other way. When we got devils bridge it was a well earned rest.

Thank you to all that got up very early on Sunday to track down to the Brookland museum for the motorcycle centenary, where their were lots of vintage bikes, and race riders like Phil Read and Steve Parrish, who were out doing there stuff on the track. Not only was there bike nostalgia to look at but also aeroplanes (non flyers) and engines, also vintage cars, workshops. the weather started off dull and over cast, but as we went south the roads dried and the sun came out and it got quite warm. so it was a good day had by all.

La Colombiere - 60 euros per night. They are in effect 3 small gites 80m from base, little bungalows complete with small kitchens, fridges,TV, BBQ facilities, and their own off road parking. GREAT value for money, and perhaps good for 3 couples who prefer a bit more peace and quiet at to be a bit more self sufficient.

Chez Mounie - Next door is slightly cheaper for some rooms, and right next door for those who want to be in the centre of things. A loft appartment for guys willing to share, plus a Twin and some doubles.
Arroplace on the sea front is loverly - a great sea view etc and is clean cool and friendly. Potentially some limited garage parking.
Other options are:

The Mountbatten - This is a hotel, and apart from the normal double rooms, they do have a couple of twin rooms. Its clean and fresh and about 120m away from base They can tuck bikes away under the stairway, but some might prefer to park at base, as the off-road carpark is not gated, though in all honesty its pretty safe in all senses.

xmas mealXmas Meal 2007

40 Action RAT Pack Members descended on The Guild Restaurant in Bromsgrove for our annual Xmas Meal on Wednesday 12 December. Noisy balloons and a drop of pop livened up the proceedings for our last meeting for 2007.

Here at Action, we would like to thank all of our members for their support during 2007, wish you all a very happy, safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. I am sure you will join with us in thanking Graham for helping organize us and giving up his own precious time for the RAT Pack. See you in 2008!

dunlopDunlop Tyres are Guests at Action

Jamie and Bryn from Dunlop Tyres played to a full house at our RAT night on Wednesday 9 January. Lots of advice about choosing tyres for our Triumphs was on the menu and Action RAT members left our meeting with lots of tips on staying rubber side up in 2008. Thanks Guys! The next meeting will take place here at Action on Wednesday 13 February at 7.30 for 8.00pm when we will discuss our Ride Out Programme for 2008. Please bring some great ideas with you!

RAT Meeting Wednesday 13 February 2008

Our second meeting will take place here at the shop at 7.30 for 8.00pm. Tonight we will discuss our Ride Out Programme for 2008 and maybe a ride for this month if the weather is acceptable. We would encourage everyone to bring some ideas with them to this meeting to enable Graham and myself to arrange a calendar of events for everyone to enjoy during 2008.

RAT Meeting Wednesday January 9  2008

Jamie and Bryn from Dunlop Tyres played to a full house at our RAT night on Wednesday 9 January. Lots of advice about choosing tyres for our Triumphs was on the menu and Action RAT members left our meeting with lots of tips on staying rubber side up in 2008.

RAT Meeting Wednesday October 2007.

Our October meeting took place at the Action Store when we were entertained by Ray Sturdey, one of our many delighted Triumph customers who entertained us with a informed and very light hearted slide show featuring the history of Triumph Motorcycles from the early beginnings as a bicycle to the re-incarnation of the name under John Bloor at Hinckley and the fantastic machines we all love and enjoy today.

Ilfracombe in the Autumn Sun.

Sunday, September 23 saw twelve of our avid RAT Pack members set out for a weekend away at sunny Ilfracombe. The weather was relatively kind, the hotel good and the food superb! Could mortal man ask for more. Looking at these happy smiling faces, I do not think so!

A Welsh Rarebit!

Abergavenny here we come boyo! Our last run for this year saw nineteen active Action Ratters set out for Welsh Wales in fine weather more like summer than summer was. Entertaining, challenging roads and a welcome food break made for a satisfying end to our 2007 ride outs.

Touring Europe starting from Redditch!

Richard Young and Spencer Davies from European Motorbike Tours Ltd introduced their mouth watering trips to us and gave us a fascinating insight into the holiday industry at our RAT meeting here at the Action Triumph Store on Wednesday 14 November.

As usual, when we listen to these guys it soon becomes
apparent that there is more to it than meets the eye!
Certainly brought out the wanderlust in us all!

Thank you Richard and colleagues!

Fancy a stay in the South of France?

Roger Ayling, one of our many customers who have bought a new Bonneville from us this year has taken it with him to his B+B in the South of France. Roger is a lovely guy with a great sense of humour and welcomes our Action Rat Members at special prices. You are all welcome to contact him at ayling@tiscali.fr
